Walking and Bike Safety
 
 
The Lake City Public School District encourages families who live within the walking zone to consider having their child walk or bike to school. When more children walk or bike to school, the automobile pick up and drop off congestion around the schools diminishes, possibly making it safer for everyone. The decision to walk or bike should take into account the child’s age and maturity level, the presence of sidewalks and cross walks as well as the distance to school. The district recommends that parents take an active role in teaching their children the rules of the road and practicing the best route to school with their children, pointing out crosswalks and how to always lift up safety. Click on the below links for more information:
